As part of our commitment to responsible tourism and meaningful philanthropy, we are proud to partner with Tee-Ch A Child (TACT) a grassroots Community Based Organization transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Uyoma Village, Siaya County.
Tee-Ch A Child was born from a simple but powerful idea: using T-shirt donations as a way to support children’s education and basic needs. Each year, the organization purchases and brands T-shirts which are sold to well-wishers, with all proceeds going directly towards school fees, food, clothing, and essential amenities for children in need.
What began as a small initiative in 2021 has grown into a registered Community Based Organization in 2023, dedicated to supporting children in and around Uyoma a village located on the shores of Lake Victoria. The community largely depends on fishing and farming, with immense potential for growth if empowered through education.

Many of the children supported by TACT are orphans, having lost their parents primarily to HIV-related illnesses. In most cases, elderly grandparents especially
grandmothers take on the responsibility of raising their grandchildren with very limited resources.
Beyond education, these children often face challenges
such as:
TACT addresses these challenges holistically by not only paying school fees but also helping meet basic home needs to create a stable and supportive environment for
learning.
TACT works closely with village leaders, ward representatives, and local mentors who understand the realities on the ground. Through community sensitization and mentorship programs, children are guided to build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills empowering them to make a difference within their own villages. The organization started by supporting just five children three girls and two boys and continues to grow with the vision of enrolling many more into the program
Through this partnership, Acacia Holidays actively supports TACT’s mission by contributing resources, raising awareness, and helping expand the reach of the program.
