Upon arrival, you will be met by an Acacia Holidays representative who will transfer you to Mfuwe Lodge and help with check in formalities as you relax after your journey.

South Luangwa National Park - Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.

Day 4 : LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred by a light aircraft to Lower Zambezi National Park via Lusaka, where you will be met by an Acacia Holidays and transferred to Royal Zambezi Lodge, your home for the next three nights.

The Lower Zambezi National Park is the newest of Zambia’s exceptional, undeveloped wildlife areas.  And together with Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools Reserve the area provides a massive wildlife sanctuary.  Most activities are concentrated along the Zambezi River as this is what draws the animals and aside from game drives and walking safaris the area offers canoe trips and tiger fishing.

Royal Zambezi Lodge, a spacious but intimate privately owned lodge, situated in Zambia on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River just minutes from the Lower Zambezi National Park and directly opposite Zimbabwe’s famous Mana Pools World Heritage Site.

Royal offers the ultimate in luxury and cuisine while enjoying and participating closely in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. The lodge offers a vast range of activities that guests can choose from – from unrivalled game viewing, canoeing on the Zambezi river, to world class fishing, or relaxing in the award winning Royal Bush Spa. At the end of your day meet at the famous Sausage Tree bar over the river or the open air pool to tell stories of siting’s during the day, or the one that got away!

Day 5 -6 : ROYAL ZAMBEZI LODGE

Enjoy two splendid days with scheduled activities. The location of the Royal Zambezi Lodge offers a wide variety of activities available due to the river, the bush and the mountains surrounding the lodge: canoe safaris, game drives, walking safaris as well as fishing. Dinner and Overnight at the Royal Zambezi Lodge

Canoe Safari-The canoeing experience involves peace and tranquillity punctuated with animal magic in all its forms. Everyone keeps a wary eye open for crocs and hippos and the guides know how to avoid “surprising” them. Game viewing from that low level is quite different and quite wonderful. The wildlife simply doesn’t care about these floating objects and goes about its business quite uninterrupted. The higher river banks provide burrow type nesting sites for bee-eaters and kingfishers which always abound.

Games Drives-An open vehicle offers all round views and an elevated aspect which helps considerably when searching afar for game. It also facilitates moving reasonably quickly from one place to another especially if lion sightings for example are reported over the on-board radio. A vehicle trip is often considered as a supplement to a boat trip and vice versa.

Walking Safari-People argue that the best way to see the bush is to walk in it. In many ways we feel they are correct as this intimate form of mixing with nature permits a close study of the various plants, animals, spoor, lairs, burrows, nests and more. All the sounds and scents are there and completely uncontaminated and there’s time to study everything properly without having to move on.

Fishing on the Lower Zambezi offers one of the finest freshwater angling experiences in the world and is home to one of the world’s premiere game fish, the Tiger. The variety in the Zambezi, Hydrocynus vittatus, can grow up to 10 -12 Kg and is a superb fighter. For guests who are new to fishing or fly-fishing, our guides provide expert instruction and assistance. Fishing is on a Catch & Release Policy.

Day 7 : VICTORIA FALLS

After breakfast, you will board your scheduled flight to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Acacia Holidays Representative who will transfer you and your luggage to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Our representative will help you with check in and other formalities as you acquaint yourself with your home for the next three days.

Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. In more modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Columns of spray can be seen from miles away as, at the height of the rainy season, more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute plummet over the edge, over a width of nearly two kilometers, into a gorge over one hundred meters below.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge-built on a plateau overlooking the Zambezi National Park, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is just 4km from the majestic Victoria Falls and offers a unique wildlife experience. A consecutive award winner for Best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for twenty years, the lodge boasts of warm and professional staff.  Built of thatch and timber, the lodge rises several levels, giving the impression of a vast open-plan tree house. All its rooms have private balconies, most of which overlook a central waterhole, offering the opportunity to observe herds of buffalo, elephant and kudu, as the sun goes down, and hyenas later in the evening.

Day 8 : VICTORIA FALLS

Enjoy the day with planned excursions that will definitely leave an indelible mark on this tour. Start with a day tour to the Victoria Falls bridge and later that evening wind down your trip to Africa with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river. Dinner and overnight at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge

Victoria Falls Bridge Tour-A visit to the historic railway bridge which connects Zambia and Zimbabwe is an integral part of any Victoria Falls experience.  The Historic Bridge Tour is a journey through 100 years of Victorian engineering to the heart of Cecil John Rhodes’ vision of a Cape to Cairo railway. The Tour includes a light hearted but informative talk on the history of the bridge, magnificent views of the rapids, rainbows and majesty of the Victoria Falls and Batoka Gorges on the walkways actually underneath the bridge and an opportunity to see a bungee jump up close.

Sunset Cruise-The sunset cruise on the Zambezi River is a definite must on any trip to Victoria Falls. Relax with a sundowner and snacks as you gaze out onto the banks of the river. Have your camera ready to capture one of the most amazing sunsets in Africa.

You'll be sure to spot wildlife animals as they come down to the river for a drink after a hot day in the Zambezi National Park (Zimbabwe) and the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (Zambia). Sightings of elephant, giraffe and other resident game are common. There's always an abundance of hippos and crocodiles. Birdlife is superb and the Fisheagles will usually fill the scene with their calls.
